It seems at the end of an Art2Life Retreat, everyone asks this question. They ask it because their art and life have progressed a lot over the past week.
When you see that kind of progress, you don’t want it to stop. If you’re anything like me, feeling those kinds of changes just feels SO good.
I know this Retreat is a bit of a boot camp, but I’m sure you now know firsthand how hard work and focus pay off. So, congratulations on an amazing week!
Going from this incredible community —with feedback, learning, and inspiration every week—back to an artist’s solitary life can be very challenging. I know how hard this can be. It was for me.
Here is what we have learned from listening alums:
That is why we created The Art2Life Academy. It was designed for exactly where you are right NOW.
Think of the Academy as an insurance policy for your art practice. We want to make sure your art continues to improve and remains a core part of your life, just like it has been over these past several days.
You were shown the concepts, principles, and techniques you need to transform your art and life. You’ve surely already implemented many of them.
But FULLY assimilating everything you’ve learned into your art practice takes time. And there’s also much more to cover, especially if you’re looking to build a business around art…
The Academy is designed to help you work through all of it. It’s less intensive but ongoing, slow, and steady. It’s a place for you to get personal art FEEDBACK, keep your art moving forward, and broaden your knowledge. In as little as an hour a week…
“I’m glad to be a part of this community which serves as a constant reminder of how badly I want to paint and make good art. It is invaluable to know there is a community behind us and I feel like I’m still involved, if peripherally. And the best part is that I’m still learning. I’m so glad I made the decision to continue this adventure with the Academy. It’s stressful at times, but it’s also a lifeline!”

“The Academy is a frequent companion in my studio. Ours is a solitary business but hearing artists’ conversations while I’m working, grappling with the same issues, is comforting, energizing and useful. I listen or watch all the video forums, chats, live streaming, Q&A’s etc. while I’m working. I get a huge lift of encouragement and support from the Academy while painting in solitude. That’s pretty frickin’ awesome!
“The Academy has given me the teaching I have been looking for and honest feedback to push forward. I have won awards with improved art and been given the confidence to get out in a more professional art environment. My work is now getting noticed in art communities beyond my home town as well as art publications.”

The Art2Life Academy is a community of Art2Life Retreat and Creative Visionary Program alumni who are committed to making, selling, and promoting the art of their lives. By entering the academy, you move closer to turning your art into a life practice.
We’ll provide you with accountability, feedback, inspiration, and a steady stream of lessons and inspiring content. The Art2Life Coaches and I are inside the Academy daily, giving feedback, sharing insights, and discussing our artwork.
And because it is ONLY available to alumni like you, you’ll be entering into a community of people who are at your level, thinking the same way and talking the same Art2Life language. We only want people with that foundational knowledge who are fired up about their art.
“The Art2Life Academy has been a hub to keep returning to for reinforcing the principles. The content is constantly being updated and is extensive. When I lose momentum or focus with my art, it helps to revisit the Academy to get informed and inspired. It’s played a big role with moving forward with my large paintings and work in general.”
In addition to the eight years of previously released content, we release Master Classes and Inspirational Interviews, conduct Live Art Critiques, and hold Community Calls each month.
Additional art-making sessions are also held throughout the month, and my team and I are constantly giving 1:1 feedback to Academy members.
It is the core of Art2Life. It IS Art2Life. This is where we help people turn their art into a lifelong practice.
The Academy has improved every single year since we started it in 2016. Many of our members have stayed since the beginning. Throughout it all, we’ve built an incredible community and amassed an unbelievable amount of resources for artists of all kinds.
I’m really, really proud of how expansive the Academy has become, but I’m even more proud of all the art careers that have taken off. I do not know of any artist membership with such a high level of art. Now beginning its ninth year, it makes sense that we would see such progress.
The Academy is different from a Retreat…but it’s kind of the same. We’re still focused on the Art2Life Principles, making the art of our lives, and lifting each other up. It’s just a bit more relaxed. It’s a long view.
And since you have now completed a Retreat my relationship with you shifts slightly in the Academy… I still teach and give feedback to all of our members—as do all the Art2Life Coaches —but now I’m thinking of you more as a peer.
Everyone is helping everyone. And this goes for me, too. I am learning along with everyone else, and the Academy is the place where this occurs.
When you’re working alone, you really only have yourself to ask what might be the next best move in your art. Believe it or not, often you cannot objectively see your art. You just might not be the right person to ask.
We’ve all been there. You’ve been working on a piece for hours or days and then realize…you actually don’t like it so much anymore. Or you just get stuck. Or you can’t see it clearly.
Well, we have solved that problem in the Academy. Getting answers to your questions and personal feedback from myself or a coach, as well as your peers, is the number one reason why your art will continue to improve fast.
Our members tell us that the most valuable part of the Academy is being able to share their art and get much-needed feedback from me, our coaches, and fellow artists.
Here it is. I don’t believe any of us can truly see ourselves without the reflection of others.
If you are ready to slip into an even and steady art rhythm for your art and life, I truly hope you join the Art2Life family in The Academy.
“I joined the academy, watched the Master Classes about website building, artist statement writing and photographing your paintings. I got done in a week what I had not been able to do before.
I am up and running, open for business—and sold my first painting! I feel so grateful to the Art2Life team for their tremendous resources and to my wonderful fellow artists for their support.”
