Doug Hammett is an artist and performer whose work thrives on spontaneity and discovery. Born in Pasadena, CA, he holds a BFA from the University of Redlands and an MFA from Art Center College of Design. His creative process is guided by intuition, allowing abstract forms to evolve into magical creatures, vivid narratives, and immersive theatrical experiences. Whether painting, illustrating, or performing, Doug embraces the unknown, trusting that each piece will reveal itself over time.

His projects, such as the book “How Color Created the World” and the tarot deck “Journey of the Bearded Tarot,” exemplify his organic approach to storytelling. In theater, Doug lets costumes, props, and improvisation shape his performances, crafting dreamlike, psychologically charged narratives. His work balances logic with intuition, inviting viewers into worlds that are both surprising and deeply engaging.

Brad Davis has been drawn to art since childhood, continuously finding new ways to express his creativity. His artistic journey led him to painting and assemblage sculpture, where he explores diverse mediums such as paint, paper, wood, and metal. Each piece he creates develops its own distinct style, shaped by his intuitive approach to materials and composition.

Inspired by nature, Davis incorporates the vibrant hues of reds, oranges, and yellows found in the natural world. The rich textures and organic forms of the landscape influence his work, allowing him to capture its beauty and dynamism in both painting and sculpture.

COACHING TEAM

Click each person’s photo to read their bio:

Nicholas is the founder of Art2Life, a platform that helps people discover and ignite their art using a new approach to creativity and life.

He is also a practicing fine artist. His paintings are seen in yearly gallery exhibitions, International Art Fairs, and are included in numerous private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe.

Nicholas speaks and writes extensively on the process of creativity, inspiration, and purpose in art and life.

Creating captivating artwork alive with vibrant hues and rich texture, Nadine Johnson channels delight and sentimentality in her paintings. The Calgary-based artist, was nurtured within a family of Lebanese, Ukrainian, Scottish, and English origins, where artistry flowed through their veins. Drawing inspiration from her multicultural heritage, Johnson’s intuitive approach to abstract painting embodies the essence of family, community, and connection. Nadine is a CVP alumnus and member of the Art2life coaching team.

Insa is an artist from Germany. Her work is based on classical painting techniques with a preference for realism – but she also works with abstraction to develop pictorial spaces using form and color. Insa helps others find their artistic voice by teaching them the basics of craftsmanship and design, as well as promoting an awareness of the benefits of playful learning and the harnessing of intuition.

Insa is a guest coach with Art2Life.

Amy Brakeman Livezey is a figurative artist. She began as a filmmaker but later followed the call to paint. Her paintings are explorations of history using paint, photographic finds, pieces of paper old and new, and a variety of tools to build up and then mine the images for a fresh look at the past. Layers and abstraction serve as an homage to the complexity of this endeavor – the chaos of the moment and our ever-changing cultural perspectives.

Amy is a CVP alumnus and a member of the Art2Life coaching team.

Kate is an English landscape painter, primarily inspired by colour, light and a feeling of space. She sketches plein air and then works in her studio to create evocative paintings with a strong sense of place that go beyond obvious observation. Kate embraces balancing abstraction with representation using a variety of medium.

Kate is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and also trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Strasbourg and Central St Martins in London.  Kate is a CVP alumnus and a member of the Art2Life coaching team.

Szot (b. 1976) has exhibited his work in many galleries across the United States from New York to Los Angeles and Texas. Szot’s paintings have been exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery in London and, in 2014, the artist was invited to participate in the Whitney Museum Art Party. His work is in public collections, including Credit Suisse, and numerous private collections, such as Beth DeWoody and the Bass Family.

The artist currently lives and works in New York City and Los Angeles.

Marjorie was a jewelry artist for 10 years before returning to painting in 2011. She has found expression in her artwork through several mediums including encaustic, oil and cold wax and most recently acrylic painting. Her work has always been inspired by nature: organic forms, currents, flow, cycles, seasons, land, water, sky, and the living things that dwell in those spaces. It is about color, line, texture, nature – seeing the world from a different perspective and finding the sweet spot that lies between abstraction and realism. Marjorie is a CVP alumnus and member of the Art2Life coaching team.

Plus 20 Alumni Guides to support and celebrate you along the way.

Enrollment for the Creative Visionary Program

only opens one time each year.

Do you know why you’re here right now? I do.

It’s because you are a lot like me. You are tired of wondering if the art you feel inside, the art of your life, will ever actually arrive.

I’m talking about the kind of art you LOVE.

The art that truly feels like you.

The kind of art that makes you feel ALIVE.

The kind of art that reminds you of who you are and who you could become in this lifetime.

But it can be elusive.

Here’s the problem:

You can FEEL your art way before you can make it.

And that’s what makes it so hard. And the more time passes, the more it feels like this might never happen.

And it sucks.

Most people don’t have this problem. But you are not like most people. I wasn’t either.

I just refused to let the dream go. I didn’t have much else besides a dream at that time. It felt rough.

It got so bad that I spent a good chunk of the first part of my adult life trying to figure it all out. I mean all of it.

Not just color, design, and value but also how to lean into creating even though I didn’t know what I wanted.

I had to go through all those years of making art I rarely liked—the worst.

I thought other artists I admired were just more talented.

I searched everywhere, desperate to figure this out. I thought it had to do with using certain art materials…

I thought it was who I knew. (It wasn’t.)

I thought it had to do with promotion, being more confident, more disciplined, more hard-working. (This one almost killed me.)

But I was wrong.

The answer was there the whole time.

It turns out I was looking in the wrong place.

It had nothing to do with not having a dream studio to make my art. It wasn’t about getting rid of my job so I could have more time. It wasn’t that I was lacking some special talent.

It also had absolutely nothing to do with that art teacher who didn’t like my art.

It was waiting in the one place I overlooked.

Myself

I know it sounds simple and obvious, but it took me a long time to figure this out.

Everything I needed to make incredible one-of-a-kind art—to sell it, promote it, make a living,

and an artful life that was rich and joyful—was there the whole damn time.

I just didn’t know how to unlock it.

And the answer is right here,

right now, waiting for you too.

I am thriving as a fine artist today.

I love the art I make and the life I get to lead.

It is a life centered upon my own creative path

My name is Nicholas Wilton.

Your Guide

Internationally acclaimed Artist, Visionary Entrepreneur, and Influential Creative Educator

I am the founder of Art2Life and the Creative Visionary Program. I’ve been an artist my whole life.

But it wasn’t until I discovered how to truly thrive as an artist that I started to help others quickly overcome what took several decades to learn.

Even though I couldn’t say it out loud so many years ago, my dream was to live a life centered on creativity.

I wanted to make amazing art, sell it, be around other artists, and live a life that made me feel alive.

But mostly, I wanted to be able to make art I loved.

Art that was like me. The art of my life.

But there was one more thing I wanted to do.

Something I just couldn’t shake. It started very small initially but kept growing alongside my art.

I wanted to teach. I wanted to show others how easily and quickly this art thing could be achieved. It didn’t have to be such a grind.

Making art could be joyful.

Once I found out how I wanted to yell it from the rooftops.

That this possibility exists for anyone.

Including you.

Sound too good to be true?

Think again.

There are only a few things

in life that I know for sure.

Here are three.

Anyone can make powerful, personal art.

Talent has nothing to do with it.

Becoming more YOU unlocks everything— better art, relationships, work, and life. Everything.

But How?

Well, that is why I made the

Creative Visionary Program.

"Everything about my life has changed in just 3 months."

“After 5 years of stumbling around, feeling lost and lonely, I am making art that feels like me and that I love…I am connected to other artists, and I am even able to help people who are a little bit further back on the road than me.I am so excited about my future. I came into CVP tired of myself and of my work. Now everything is different. I am excited. I see nothing but possibility ahead.”

Louise Fletcher

“I thought I didn’t have the talent to be an artist.”

“I thought I didn’t have the talent to be an artist. This program has taken me from not showing my attempts to anyone to producing art for a professional exhibition. It has taken me from total amateur through all the mindsets and processes to be able to say ‘I AM AN ARTIST!’ and live a life of art and love.”

TRACY THOMSON

“My entire world has changed.”

“My entire world has changed. I had only started painting a few months before this program and now I have a worldwide network of artist friends and a beautiful studio. I’m represented by 3 galleries, I’ve had a solo show, several group shows, and even done some teaching. It’s truly been an incredible life change!”

LYNETTE REID

The Creative Visionary Program

(CVP for short) initially helped

people quickly overcome all

artists' challenges.

After working with THOUSANDS of artists, I’ve learned that nearly everyone has similar challenges.

No one is immune. Even professional artists with multiple art degrees! And, participants from professional artists to absolute beginners have unlocked the authentic art inside them through this program.

“Before I started The Creative Visionary Program I was procrastinating because of my limiting beliefs.

Now I’m exploring and playing almost every day with whatever I have on hand—it might be working in my sketchbook or working on a painting. More joy in my work and life!”

TAMARA TRAXEL

“Before CVP, I felt lost.”

“Before The Creative Visionary Program, I felt lost. I was struggling to find my artistic voice. Through CVP, I not only discovered that voice but learned how to amplify it, which led to a profound shift in my work and my confidence. CVP not only enriched my art but propelled my career forward—enabling me to establish a studio, venture into teaching, and prepare for an upcoming gallery opening.”

NADINE JOHNSON

The Creative Visionary Program’s effectiveness

results from three components coming together.

THE 2025 CVP CREATIVE TEAM

Comprised of our Art2Life Coaches, Guides, and Expert Guest Teachers.

THE COMMUNITY

Includes the Creative Team, the new class of 2025, and over 1200 returning alumni. This community of like-minded people will support, encourage, and inspire you like no other.

THE ART2LIFE BLOOM PRACTICE

Comprised of the three Pillars of ArtMaking, this revolutionary approach will provide a direct path for creating from the heart and making powerful, authentic art, regardless of your level.

The Art2Life

BLOOM Practice

The BLOOM Practice will connect you to your heart, playing again in your art and feeling more YOU than ever.

This is how creating becomes easier and faster, resulting in art you will love.

Within The Art2Life BLOOM Practice there are 3 PILLARS OF ARTMAKING:

pillar #1

Mindset

We’ll help you reignite your creative fire and finally let go of any limiting beliefs you may still have. You’ll learn to play in art by following what brings you alive. Lightness, spaciousness, and feeling more alive than ever before—are all things you can expect to feel in this first part of the Art2Life Framework.

pillar #2

The Art2Life Principles

In CVP, we teach you to discover, make, and troubleshoot your art using the Art2Life Principles. Design, Value, Color, Texture, Risk, and Soul.

We’ll cover these principles in depth, filling any gaps in your art education and ensuring you’re well-equipped to make visually stunning art you love. This will set you up to create a thriving practice of making YOUR art and life. (Yes, you’ll improve both in CVP.)

pillar #3

Process

What if you had a step-by-step process for consistently creating art you love and having FUN while doing it?

That’s exactly what we’ll give you, and it’s an absolute game changer—especially for anyone who wants to sell their art. Say goodbye to procrastination and get ready for an outpouring of creativity. This can dramatically improve your art-making’s quality, ease, and speed. You’ll wonder how you ever made art without it.

CVP is the World’s #1 Art and Life

Transformation Program. Period.

There’s simply nothing

online or offline that is even close

to what this program offers.

Many of our alumni have said this program was more valuable than their undergraduate or graduate art degrees… CVP provides far more than just the technical skills required to be a successful artist.

In 14 weeks, we’ll show you how to create an art practice that invigorates you and brings out your best art and life.

THAT MEANS:

More confidence

Art that is more likely to sell

A return to self

A stronger, more authentic voice

The feeling that you are more alive than ever

“Now, I try ideas that are ambitious.”

“Before CVP, I only did the work I thought I was ‘good enough’ to do. Now, I try ideas that are ambitious. I held myself back because I didn’t have self-confidence. I painted what other people thought I should paint. I thought there was a magic thing I needed to learn…

I was partially right, but it wasn’t a particular skill. Instead, I needed to learn to let go and paint for the love of painting. I learned that when a painting is ‘bad,’ it’s just not done yet!”

DENA HENGST

“I identify myself as a fine artist now.”

“Every time I painted I knew that this was what I wanted to do. Moving into being an artist is daunting. With CVP I could feel the learning curve and the acceleration of learning more than any other educational thing I’ve ever done. The program took me back to my roots when I was young as a kid. I identify myself as a fine artist now.”

GORDON STUDER

Week by week, we will gently

guide you on the path to

finding and making YOUR art.

After almost 10 years of online art education, we know how to deliver this teaching so you’re not overwhelmed. You can relax. Trust us. We know what we’re doing and how to get you there.

We’ve perfected CVP so learning is easy, efficient, doable, and above all, FUN. You’re going to discover a streamlined, clear path to making the art of your life—consistently and sustainably

Learn More About What

We'll Do Each Week

WEEKS 1 TO 3

RISK & SOUL

We start our journey by helping you unearth what you WANT to be making. We’ll cover why and how you make your art, what inspires you, and what ultimately brings you alive in your art and life. Expect to play and fall back in love with your art-making.

WEEKS 4 TO 5

DESIGN & VALUE

We start our journey by helping you unearth what you WANT to be making. We’ll cover why and how you make your art, what inspires you, and what ultimately brings you alive in your art and life. Expect to play and fall back in love with your art-making.

WEEKS 6 TO 7

COLOR

Color is the basis for nearly everything we do as artists, yet so many artists were never given all the information. Finally, learning ALL aspects of color— hue, value, saturation, complements, and temperature—will open fresh possibilities for your art. You will never need another course on color again.

WEEKS 8

TEXTURE

If you’ve ever felt “stuck” in a certain style of art-making but don’t know how to shake things up, texture may be the missing link. In this module, we’ll have fun experimenting and making different textures—scraping, sanding, transfers, gels, wax, and more.

WEEKS 9 TO12

YOUR ART SERIES

In the last four weeks, you will work on your series of 12×12” paintings. And I will join you in this process, making my art series alongside you.

Creating a series will help you put all the Art2Life Principles into practice. These modules include beginning, getting unstuck, clarifying, and finishing your art.

The art you make during this module may be the best you’ve ever made, but above all, you will discover a new process for making art: one where you work on multiple pieces at once and where each piece informs the other.

This way of working is fast, fluid, and unlike anything you have tried before. For many, it’s the missing link for making bold strokes in creating art and life—and it’s grounded in what makes you come alive.

Get ready. Your art is about to

become one-of-a-kind.

“I’m excited to think about how far I can take my practice.”

“My work since CVP has become stronger. I feel confident when I look at my newer work. I make bolder decisions, use more saturated colors, more layering, and I feel a freedom and joy that is indescribable when I’m working. I’m excited to think about how far I can take my practice—there are no limits. I plan on getting better and better and better! I love my life as an artist more now than ever.”

Just Listen to What People Are Saying About CVP!

Who is CVP for?

The Creative Visionary Program is perfect for artists of all backgrounds and experience levels. Regardless of your experience, you will discover an easy, clear path to making YOUR art a regular, sustainable part of your life.

There are three types of people that enroll in CVP…

THE BEGINNER

You’re just getting started on your creative journey. You may have been practicing art already, or maybe not at all—either way, you’re ready to make it a more serious part of your life.

THE RETURNING ARTIST

You’re finally coming back to your art after an absence. Maybe you didn’t have time, lost confidence, or were snuffed out by a parent or teacher early on. But now you’re ready to come back and create the kind of art you have always dreamed of making.

THE PROFESSIONAL ARTIST

You’re a professional artist, but you’ve lost your mojo. You’d be surprised how many professional artists we work with every year. The reality is that getting started can be hard, but staying in the game year after year is even harder. We can show you how to ignite your art and career.

“It has just been so empowering!”

“I wandered away from art 30 years ago. Life happened! A career, 3 kids. During the pandemic, a lot of things changed for a lot of people. For me, it was rediscovering my art.

But after plugging away for a couple of years, I wasn’t sure if I knew what I was doing or how to grow. A friend suggested CVP.

Like so many others, CVP taught me the guiding principles. That was big. But what is truly profound is that because of CVP my art and my life are now one and the same! I think differently. I prioritize my work. I play more and take risks. I’m way more confident in what I’m doing. It has just been so empowering!”

“It’s the best thing I’ve done in years”

“I’m having the time of my life, really. It’s taken pressure off of me in that I don’t have to do something that really looks like something. It’s more about a feeling and reacting to shapes. My art is now a big party for myself. I’m happy there. I put music on. I really paint from my heart now. I’m not trying to reproduce or just do techniques. It’s the best thing I’ve done in years, honest to God.”

LOUISE S.

The Creative Visionary Program IS for you if…

The Creative Visionary Program might NOT be for you if…

You don’t have to be an “artist” to feel drawn to creating.

No matter your skill or experience level, you can access more creativity and learn powerful art principles in a welcoming space.

But what is the cost of doing nothing?

Change is never convenient. It takes effort. There are, however, costs associated with staying the same.

Will your art keep going the way it has been all these years? If you’re a beginner, how will you get all the information and the support to get your art going?

Going at it alone can take decades of struggle…it did for me.

Are the holes in your knowledge holding you back? It is very difficult to make powerful, authentic art without all the information.

Procrastinating, losing confidence and motivation, can get so bad that you can stop making art. Getting stuck in making your art adds endless struggle to your art process.

Will your art continue to sell only occasionally, or maybe not at all? The relationship between sales, strength, and originality is real.

Lackluster sales will only continue until your art becomes exceptional.

And that is what we are doing in CVP.

The program begins on March 20th, 2025 and ends on July 1st, 2025. It is a 14-week program, but we include two rest week from April 28-May 2, and May 26-30.

This is an online course. Therefore, basic computer skills are needed. We give basic instructions to get you started and include several instructional videos to consult if needed. You will need to understand how to leave a comment, take a picture of your art, and upload an image.

If you can free up 3-5 hours per week, you will learn a great deal and greatly benefit from the program. Some will spend more than this because they become increasingly excited about their art as the program continues.

We use 12″ x 12″ wood birch 1/4″ panels and acrylic paint. You will need 18 panels during the program. We use small rounds and flats for brushes. Many artists already have a wide assortment of brushes and even acrylic colors. We will also use different sandpapers, trowels, and other mark-making tools throughout the program. We provide an extensive materials list for the program, but you may already have much of it.

Yes, although it is not recommended. We use acrylic because it is fast drying and makes it possible to build up extensive layering of paint. The learning is accelerated because the actual painting size of 12″ x 12″ is relatively small and can be changed quickly. The faster and more frequent the changes to an artist’s art, the faster and more efficient the learning. These two material choices support our learning strategy.

Yes! We have two payment plan options. 3 monthly payments or 4 monthly payments. We also offer longer payment plan options via Paypal, Afterpay and Klarna. Click here to see all of our payment options.

Yes! You have 21 days from when the program starts to determine if CVP is a good fit. If not, you can get a full refund. No questions asked.

Yes! All lessons and calls are recorded, so you may listen and learn wherever convenient. And because you have access for a full year, you can go at a comfortable pace.

Yes, many of our alumni were showing in galleries before CVP. The price of your art, the number of sales, and the caliber of your galleries are all connected to your art’s strength, originality, and vibrancy. Over time, your art should steadily improve and therefore increase in sales and value. CVP will help ensure this process continues.

The Creative Visionary Program is perfectly suited for the beginner with little or no prior experience. All that is required is the interest and passion to improve and learn. The community of artists, as well as the CVP Team, is incredibly supportive of newcomers.

Many professional and working artists join CVP each year. Even if you have a formal art education, many artists do not have all the information they need to translate their “head” knowledge into their practice in an intuitive, personal way. Many working artists struggle to continue evolving their work, and CVP offers a clearer, more efficient path to making your best art yet.

You can be any kind of artist you want! The principles and ideas in this program relate to all kinds of art. It doesn’t matter whether your art is realistic, landscape painting, collage, sculpture, minimal color-field painting, abstract, or even photography… It all relates to the overarching principles taught in CVP.

These principles apply to any kind of art making. We have had photographers, collage artists, and even sculptors enroll in the Creative Visionary Program. In the program, we DO use acrylic paint, the simplest and fastest medium, to learn the principles. We recommend using acrylic–you will have proficiency in this medium at the end of twelve weeks. Many artists transfer the learning to their kind of art during and after the program. We also have a detailed materials list covering all the supplies you need.

The material has complexity and nuances and meets students where they are in their art journey. Beginners will learn different things compared to someone with many years of experience. We also have many beginners who return the next year to deepen their learning. The mixed levels of participants is intentional and adds to the program’s richness. Every artist, even the advanced, can learn from a beginner’s questions.

A big part of the Creative Visionary Program is identifying what inspires and makes you feel alive. It can be super challenging if you’ve lost track of this in your career, art, or life for too long.  Changing careers is not easy; however, doing something that brings you joy is a great motivator. Countless CVP alumni have been able to turn art into a full-time career.

Yes! We spend several weeks on “Risk & Soul,” which is all about finding your artistic voice. We help you re-align with whatever brings you joy and inspiration. When you make art you love, the natural outcome is your signature style. Figuring that out is what making art is all about! It is about you.
